So often I hear friends complain about trying to find a purpose in life or why can't they be as talented as their next-door neighbor, or their work colleague. "It isn't fair".
When I hear this I just shake my head. Why do they question? Why do they wonder? Do they not realize the gifts they have been given? The problem today is that we live in a world of convenience. Technology has done this! People get frustrated. They become impatient with themselves, with others, and if you can imagine, with God!
Perhaps part of the reason is they are hoping for the wrong things in life. Real hope is constant. Real hope is strong. Real hope is believing in Jesus Christ.
God gave each and, every one a gift. I look to the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians (7.7) for guidance: "But each of you has a particular gift from God, one having one kind and another a different kind."
Therefore, be kind to yourself and remember your greatest gift is being a child of God.
