I am especially elated as I write this portion of the devotional about the Armour of God, and I believe it is because Ephesians 6:15 encourages us to be ready to share the gospel of Jesus Christ! I consider God's love, grace and mercy towards me to be indescribably extravagant! Frankly, I still struggle to understand why God loves me so much that He would pay the price He did for my sins through the shed blood of His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. This will continues to be a mystery to me until I behold my King face to face some day. Until that time, I will go 'tell it on the mountain' at every opportunity. Joy fills my heart every time I testify of the Lord's redeeming and sustaining love that continues to transform me. This same power of the Holy Spirit can also redeem and deliver you!
Ephesians 6:15 reminds us about the importance of having a firm footing. For the Roman soldier, sandals held tightly by thick leathers traps and grips, meant that they were sure-footed and had a firm foundation for battle. The readiness that comes with being prepared to share the gospel of peace is rooted in a posture of submission to the will of the Holy Spirit. Romans 10:15 states, 'And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?' That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news; the good news of peace and salvation..." ( Romans 10:15; Isaiah 52:7)
In 2024, we were on mission again with seasoned evangelists and as a family in our various market places (at work, school, local community outreaches, church evangelism groups and national events). We put on our gospel shoes and boldly stepped into many evangelistic and outreach endeavours as we were led by The Holy Spirit; and by God's grace and promise, He was with us.
